First-time Partnership Will Offer Free Webinar to Explore Options for Employed and Unemployed Workers
John Wood Community College is joining forces with local workforce agencies and area businesses to offer solutions to community workforce issues. The collaboration will co-present an online webinar for employed and unemployed workers interested in exploring career options and financing opportunities.
The “Ready for a Change” webinar will take place on Tuesday, June 2, at 1:00 p.m. Presenters will include Keely Ragar, JWCC Missouri and business outreach advisor, Kristen Ritterbusch, JWCC director of admissions, Jeremy Oshner of Two Rivers–Illinois Workforce Development, Diane Simbro of the Northeast Missouri Workforce Development Board, Catie Doyle of Doyle Manufacturing and Steph Tafoya, corporate recruiter at Dot Foods.
“Opportunities are out there for both the employed and unemployed,” Simbro shared. “This partnership with John Wood and area businesses is focused on meeting the needs of those seeking a new career or exploring options.”
The free online event will connect viewers with career programs in manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and other career/technical training. Viewers will also learn about college financing from two funding agencies and local employers that hire in-demand skilled workers.
“This webinar will be a great source of information for workers seeking to make a change,” said Ragar. “Local companies are constantly looking for highly-skilled workers, and John Wood provides excellent educational opportunities to help fulfill those needs.”
The online event is co-presented by Quincy Workforce Center, Northeast Missouri Workforce Development Board, Doyle Manufacturing, Dot Foods and JWCC.
