What is HREDC?
Organized in 1984 to promote growth and investment in Hannibal, Marion County and Ralls County, HREDC is a nonprofit, public/private partnership that works to promote new investment in the area in an effort to increase the quality of life of our citizens.
HREDC is financed through investments by the City of Hannibal, Hannibal Board of Public Works, Hannibal IDA, City of Palmyra, Marion County, Ralls County and approximately 60 private businesses and organizations as well as a number of private individuals who make up our Membership. A 16-member Board of Directors governs the organization.
Why is HREDC Important to You?
HREDC works to promote investment within the HREDC Region through expansion of existing businesses, new business attraction and entrepreneurial development. These investments lead to creation of new jobs, increased tax base for taxing jurisdictions and municipalities, and diversification of the local economy.
What Companies has HREDC Assisted?
HREDC has been instrumental in assisting numerous local companies with expansion opportunities and locating new business investment in the area. A few of our recent attraction/expansion projects include General Mills, Spartan Light Metal, Hannibal Regional Healthcare System and B & B Theaters.
How Does HREDC Assist?
HREDC acts as a single point of contact for companies requesting information about the HREDC Region. In addition to providing available site and building information, demographics and labor survey information, HREDC organizes community tours and site visits for a variety of prospects. HREDC works with site selectors to provide both State level and Local level incentive proposals and helps to coordinate the application and permitting process for projects.
